General website and service terms for ProperCompliance.
Last updated: 3 September 2026
These terms apply to use of the ProperCompliance website and form the general basis on which quotations and PAT testing services may be offered. Specific quotation or booking terms provided to you will also apply and may take priority where stated.
Any price indication on the website is for general guidance unless expressly confirmed in writing. A quotation may depend on factors including the number and type of appliances, location, access, parking, site conditions and the information supplied by the customer.
The customer is responsible for providing safe and reasonable access to the premises and to the appliances that are to be tested. Appliances should be accessible and, where reasonably possible, available for testing at the agreed appointment time.
PAT testing generally involves visual inspection and appropriate electrical tests for suitable portable electrical equipment. The exact test performed can depend on appliance type, construction and condition.
A test result reflects the condition and test outcome of the appliance at the time it is inspected and tested. It does not guarantee that an appliance will remain safe indefinitely or that faults cannot arise later.
If equipment fails a test, appears unsafe or is not suitable for the planned test, the result may be recorded accordingly. Unless separately agreed, ProperCompliance does not undertake electrical repair work as part of a standard PAT testing appointment.
Customers should provide accurate information when requesting a quote or booking, including location and estimated appliance quantity. Significant differences between the information supplied and the actual job may require a revised price.
Appointment cancellation and rescheduling arrangements will be confirmed when a booking is made. Where travel, parking or other costs have already been incurred, these may be taken into account where permitted and agreed.
Nothing in these terms excludes liability where it would be unlawful to do so. ProperCompliance's responsibility will otherwise be subject to applicable law and the agreed scope of the service.
We aim to keep information on this website accurate and up to date, but general website content should not be treated as legal, regulatory or electrical-engineering advice. Requirements can vary depending on the property, business, equipment and local licensing conditions.
