General website and service terms for ProperCompliance.
Last updated: 22 September 2026
These terms apply to use of the ProperCompliance website and form the general basis on which quotations and services may be offered. Specific quotation, scope or booking terms provided for a job will also apply and may take priority where stated.
Website prices are general guidance unless expressly confirmed in writing. Property repair, maintenance and refurbishment quotations depend on the information available, site conditions, access, labour, materials and trade requirements. A quotation is based on the agreed scope at the time it is issued.
Some property services may be delivered or supported by independent trade partners or contractors. Where appropriate, ProperCompliance may coordinate the enquiry and work with the relevant trade. Specialist or regulated work may require an appropriately competent trade, additional assessment, certification or other documentation depending on the job.
The customer is responsible for providing accurate job information and safe, reasonable access to the premises and relevant work areas. Delays, hidden conditions, unavailable access or material differences from the information supplied may affect timing, scope or price.
Building and repair work can reveal conditions that were not visible before work started. Where additional work or a material change to scope is identified, this should be discussed and, where practical, agreed before the additional work proceeds.
PAT testing generally involves visual inspection and appropriate electrical tests for suitable portable electrical equipment. The exact test performed can depend on appliance type, construction and condition. A result reflects the condition and test outcome at the time of testing and does not guarantee future condition.
Electrical, structural and other specialist work is subject to the actual scope and any applicable technical, statutory or professional requirements. Where design, approval, inspection, certification or specialist input is needed, this may need to be arranged as part of or separately from the quoted work.
Where materials or finishes are included, availability, specification, lead times and customer selections can affect cost and programme. Equivalent alternatives should be discussed where the originally intended product is unavailable.
Booking, cancellation and rescheduling arrangements may be confirmed with the quotation or appointment. Emergency or urgent enquiries are subject to availability and are not a guarantee of 24-hour attendance.
Nothing in these terms excludes liability where it would be unlawful to do so. ProperCompliance's responsibility will otherwise be subject to applicable law and the agreed scope of the service.
We aim to keep information on this website accurate and up to date, but general website content should not be treated as legal, regulatory, structural, electrical or other professional advice. Requirements can vary by property, project and local circumstances.
