The brief

Bring an overgrown garden back under control before extension works begin.

When the partner first took over the project, the rear garden had become heavily overgrown with weeds and climbing vegetation. Several people spent multiple days clearing the site and removing a significant amount of garden waste.

After roughly a month away from the property, new weed growth had started to return. With a rear extension planned for a later stage, the decision was made to prepare the garden more thoroughly in the meantime rather than repeatedly clearing the same growth.

The approach

The team cleared the regrowth, laid weed-control membrane across the working area, secured the perimeter and refreshed the boundary fencing so the garden would be more manageable while the extension project remained pending.

The membrane stage is not intended as the final landscaping finish. It is a practical holding measure to reduce repeated weed growth and keep the site more manageable while the rear extension remains to be progressed.
